i250 like i200 runs on Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS). This system is simple to install and allows users easy access to their document management file store via their browser whilst giving them access to their Invu 'worktray' where ever they are in the world.
The i250 system operates server side on the IIS platform and offers a user-friendly web interface to the Invu product range. Invu S250 must be in place in a standard installation for i250 to function.
It allows the user to log on to the site via the standard Invu log on. From the i250 home page the user can choose whether they wish to create a document for placement into the document management system or simply search for information. The search allows the user to look across all the indexing fields in Invu or indeed across the contents of th documents contained within the system. i250 allows the user to then open up the documents retrieved or indeed check the document out for editing. The editing can be done offline where on the document would be checked back into the online system by the user creating the new revision. All of this is of course governed by Invu privileges and security.
i250 allows flexibility for external users to see and edit (according to Invu security) information that until now could only have been accessed whilst on the network. The i250 product now allows users to scan, view their intrays and access all of their workflow tasks over an intranet or internet.
Version 5.3 of the Invu applications range is just being launched which includes all the new functionality listed above within the i series product range.
